The average annual temperature in most area of the earth is between 0°C and +40°C.

For consumer electronics application, the environmental test temperature is usually between +5°C and -5°C; and telecommunication and industrial products, are usually between -5°C and -20°C, considering their longer service life. In the other hand, outdoor product, such as LED Street Light, is recommended that their environmental test temperature should be between -30°C and -40°C to have good reliability.

In order to correctly observe and verify the product under a low temperature environment, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) recommended to consider the pre-test treatment, post-test treatment, heating rate, temperature load conditions, and the volume ratio of the test object in the temperature chamber, etc.

Low Temperature Application:
Generally, test applications are divided into the Low Temperature Storage Test and Low Temperature Operating Test. It is recommended to add a cold start step while conducting the low temperature operating test, because most products have a higher possibility and could not turn on during under low temperature condition from previous experience. Furthermore, if the low temperature test can be carried out along with the product's lowest working voltage, the reliability of product in a low temperature environment is more confidence.

General phenomenon caused by low temperature:
Unable turn on during low temperature, material cracking, glass products becoming fragile, jamming of movable parts, lubrication deduct, and so on.
